Consumer Electronics EMC Testing

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Pre-Compliance Testing for Consumer Electronics

We perform EMC pre-compliance testing to help our consumer electronic customers identify potential EMC issues. We do this in a cost effective way by focusing on risk areas and quickly fixing issues that we find during electromagnetic compatibility testing. It takes less time and costs less than a traditional compliance test phase, which saves our consumer electronics customers time and money with our process.

Consumer electronics devices can be challenging to develop and pass EMC requirements. The program timelines are often shorter compared to other industries. They often utilize AC mains and power conversion circuitry which can cause issues meeting EMC Emissions testing. Digital and RF circuitry is becoming more prolific on these devices and often requires a balanced approach on EMC, Signal Integrity and Power Integrity to result in a successful and marketable product design.

Key facts about our consumer electronics EMC pre-compliance testing process:

  1. We discover consumer electronics EMC issues quickly

  2. We find the root cause by understanding the physics and fix electromagnetic compatibility issues within the same EMC test phase

  3. We perform over-testing to ensure sufficient design margin and confirm improvements

  4. Our consumer electronics customers move forward confidently into their EMC compliance test phase

  5. By focusing on the risk areas and performing consumer electronics EMC testing in a shorter time-frame our customers often save at least one product design iteration.

  6. As EMC issues are identified we have a full line-up of EMC troubleshooting tools to locate the source of the failure.  In addition to our EMC tools we have a large number of component kits in house to prototype solutions and retest quickly.
